The Starting Point
A B2B customer buys very differently from a consumer. They see different prices and products, have different delivery and payment options, and even become customers through a different process. A business needs to be approved before it can purchase at wholesale prices.
Goodwill’s previous online store could no longer support these requirements. The challenge was to handle both business models within a single e-commerce platform without operating two separate stores.
The Solution
Logishop provided the core e-commerce functionality, including the product catalogue, basket, ordering process, content management, administration, payment integrations and B2B organisation management. This allowed development to focus on Goodwill’s specific business rules and ERP integration.
Master data management remained in the ERP. Products, categories, product attributes, stock information, business partners, delivery and payment methods, and the complete pricing structure are transferred from the ERP to the e-commerce platform, while orders flow back into the ERP. Customers then receive an automated email confirmation.
B2B pricing required a layered model covering elements such as price tiers, contractual prices, promotions, volume-based discounts and customer-specific discounts. We implemented these rules so that business customers see the same price in the online store that later appears on their invoice.
