HostWare is one of the established players in the Hungarian hotel software market. A significant part of its system, developed over more than 30 years, was built in Delphi, while cloud-based solutions that are easy to use on mobile devices and tablets are playing an increasingly important role in the market. HostWare is therefore gradually migrating its system to modern technologies and wanted to integrate AI into its own development processes as part of this transition.

LogiNet first assessed the existing codebase and development processes, then created the toolset and methodology required for AI-assisted software development. This was followed by in-person training and collaborative development workshops, where we helped the HostWare team apply the new workflow to real development tasks.

Documentation is a key part of the methodology. AI is first used to create an SRS, or Software Requirements Specification, from the legacy code, which the HostWare team then reviews and refines. This ensures that decades of accumulated business knowledge are transferred into the new system in a structured form. Backend and frontend plans are then created from the specification, and AI supports the development of the new code based on these plans. Lessons learned during development are fed back into the rules and project knowledge used by the AI, allowing the workflow to continuously adapt to HostWare’s own system.

HostWare also received a custom AI coding plugin developed for its Visual Studio environment. The solution was delivered with its source code, allowing HostWare’s own developers to extend it and adapt it to their internal processes over time.

The aim of the project was for HostWare’s own team to acquire the knowledge and tools required for AI-assisted modernisation, rather than for LogiNet to take over development. The developers now use the new workflow independently.
