RendszerTerv designs high- and medium-voltage electrical substations that convert electricity from high-voltage transmission lines into local distribution networks. Each substation project includes 30 to 50 technical documents, ranging from earthworks to electrical safety plans. Previously, contractors received the entire documentation package, making it difficult to find the drawings relevant to their work. For example, an earthworks contractor would receive the complete documentation set, including electrical safety plans that were not relevant to their tasks.
LogiNet developed a web-based partner portal where every layer of a technical drawing is linked to its corresponding documentation. Contractors can zoom and navigate drawings directly in the browser, filter individual layers through a side panel, and download the related documentation simply by clicking on a drawing element. The solution is built on a Java backend and Vue.js frontend, while the administration interface manages project-specific permissions, controlling which drawings each user can access and for how long.
The most challenging part of the project was technical. AutoCAD cannot export SVG files suitable for the web while preserving drawing layers, yet the portal's functionality depends entirely on those layers. The team tested 15 to 20 conversion tools before finding that a legacy offline application, AutoDWG, was the only solution capable of preserving layers, colours, and text without errors. The entire portal workflow was built around this approach.
The system was delivered in approximately three months by a dedicated four-person team with very few issues during implementation. Ownership of the software was handed over to the client, who now operates the platform independently. RendszerTerv has already uploaded its first project, and the portal is used daily by its partners.
