Is it expensive to run an app?
The cost to run/maintain an app depends on the complexity of the app. Standalone apps can cost almost nothing, but real apps with a backend and proper technical support cost anywhere from a few hundred to £1-£2,000.
Can I make an app for free?
There are app builder platforms that claim to provide free apps. However, these platforms offer very limited functionality and no customisation, and are not even free in the long run. Building a useful, customised app costs money.
The other disadvantage of app builder platforms is that you will never own the code or IP. So if you are serious about your project and also want to raise investment then you should build custom software.
